We Are Looking For:

We are looking for an experienced Design Manager, BMS, Network and ICT that would act as the design authority and technical lead for BMS, CCCS, telecommunications, and associated ICT, network, and IT infrastructure across data centre projects. The ideal candidate would be working very closely with the Engineering/projects department, and the role supports the delivery of client connectivity and integration requirements, coordinating with telecommunications service providers, internal engineering teams, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle – from concept design through construction, commissioning, and handover.

Your Job Responsibilities:

  • a) Design Authority & Engineering Governance Act as Design Authority for BMS, CCCS, ICT, telecommunications, and OT/IT network systems across new build, expansion, and retrofit projects; work in close partnership with the Head of Engineering to align engineering strategy, standards, and project delivery outcomes; lead design development across all stages (Concept, DD, IFC, As‑Built) ensuring compliance with data centre performance, resilience, and scalability requirements; review, challenge, and approve design submissions, technical specifications, drawings, control philosophies, network architectures, and interface documents; support the Head of Engineering in managing technical risk, design consistency, and cross‑project standardisation.
  • b) BMS / CCCS Architecture & Control Design Define and validate BMS and CCCS architectures, system topologies, and integration strategies across electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems; review and approve control sequences, logic diagrams, alarm strategies, interlocks, and setpoints; ensure designs support Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and operational readiness; provide technical oversight during FAT, SAT, and IST, ensuring alignment with approved design intent.
  • c) ICT, ISP / OSP & Physical Infrastructure Design Lead the design of ICT infrastructure supporting BMS, CCCS, DCIM, CMMS, analytics, and reporting platforms; define OT and enterprise network architectures, including segmentation, redundancy, firewalls, and high‑availability design; lead ISP / OSP design, including client secured trunking systems for Metro and ICT networks, cable basket, ladder, tray, and containment systems with segregation, capacity planning, and future expansion; fibre optic backbone topology, pathways, termination, labelling, and security zoning; coordinate closely with architectural, civil, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure constructible and clash‑free designs.
  • d) Telecommunications & External Connectivity Act as the primary technical interface for telecommunications matters within the project design team; liaise directly with telecommunications service providers to define connectivity requirements, diversity, and resilience strategies; coordinate points of entry (PoE), meet‑me rooms (MMR), and external duct bank interfaces; support design and implementation of diverse carrier routes and campus connectivity; ensure telco requirements are fully integrated into ISP/OSP, secured trunking, containment, and MMR designs; coordinate telco engagement with clients, project managers, and construction teams for timely service delivery and commissioning; support client connectivity strategies, including carrier neutrality, scalability, and future capacity growth.
  • e) Client & System Integration Support and interpret client technical and connectivity requirements, translating them into compliant, deliverable designs; define and govern client API integrations with BMS and CCCS platforms, ensuring secure and scalable data exchange; act as a key technical interface for clients, consultants, system integrators, and telcos.
  • f) PDG Wi‑Fi & Site Network Design Define design standards for PDG corporate and campus Wi‑Fi, including coverage, redundancy, cybersecurity, and integration with IT infrastructure; ensure Wi‑Fi designs support engineering, project delivery, commissioning, and site operational use cases while maintaining segregation from OT systems.
  • g) Cybersecurity, Compliance & Standards Ensure all designs comply with OT cybersecurity standards, network segmentation requirements, and audit expectations; embed secure‑by‑design principles, including access control, remote connectivity, and logging; maintain high‑quality design documentation, network diagrams, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and change records.
  • h) Stakeholder & Project Engagement Work closely with the Head of Engineering, project managers, IT teams, consultants, vendors, system integrators, and telcos; manage and coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment to agreed scope, standards, and client requirements; communicate complex technical matters clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders; support procurement, tender evaluations, and technical clarifications where required.
  • i) Handover & Operational Readiness Ensure designs are operations‑ready, supporting maintainability, monitoring, and future scalability; support structured handover to operations, including design intent documentation and knowledge transfer.

Qualities You Should Have:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, ICT, or equivalent.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in data centre design, engineering, or project delivery environments.
  • Proven experience delivering BMS, CCCS, ICT, ISP/OSP, and telecommunications infrastructure for mission‑critical facilities.
  • Strong expertise in BMS/CCCS architecture, control design, and system integration.
  • Sound knowledge of OT and enterprise networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, and redundancy.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, including MMRs, PoEs, fibre routing, and carrier coordination.
  • In‑depth knowledge of secured trunking, cable basket/tray systems, and structured cabling design.
  • Familiarity with DCIM, API integration, and analytics platforms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power BI.
  • Strong engineering judgement, design review, and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical capability.
  • Proven ability to manage clients, telcos, consultants, and internal stakeholders concurrently.
  • Structured, detail‑focused, and comfortable operating in a design authority role within complex data centre programmes.
