Your responsibilities

  • Planning and conducting organic syntheses in the research laboratory to develop new photochromic dyes, as well as scaling up the developed syntheses to production scale
  • Evaluating the syntheses using modern analytical techniques (HPLC-MS, GC, IR, spectroscopic methods)
  • Preparation and presentation of research results
  • Monitoring of current patent literature and drafting of patents in cooperation with the relevant department
  • Development projects for new photochromic eyeglass lenses in collaboration with the Functional Materials team and the Engineering Center in Regen

Your profile

  • Bachelors degree with a focus on organic chemistry, followed by a Ph.D., preferably with honors
  • Several years of professional experience as a chemical/development engineer in organic synthesis, ideally of photochromic dyes
  • Extensive expertise in synthetic chemistry, retrosynthesis, dye chemistry, and polymer chemistry
  • Preferably prior experience with the application of AI and chemoinformatics in dye chemistry
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ChemDraw
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Hands-on mentality with a preference for practical work in a synthesis laboratory
  • Strong communicator and team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
