Development Chemist - R&D Butyl Technologies

Join H.B. Fuller’s R&D team to advance butyl-based sealant and adhesive technologies from concept to commercialization. You will collaborate with global cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable, high-performance solutions for diverse markets. You’ll tackle development and optimization challenges, influence raw materials and testing methods, and help scale products from lab to manufacturing. This role offers meaningful impact in a global, innovation-driven environment with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

• Develop and optimize butyl-based sealants and adhesives for industrial applications
• Conduct product testing and application evaluations using established laboratory methods
• Support scale-up activities from laboratory development to manufacturing
• Improve existing products throughout their lifecycle
• Evaluate new raw materials and technologies to enhance product performance
• Define technical specifications and quality requirements for materials and products
• Maintain laboratory equipment and support safe, efficient R&D operations
• Collaborate with Technical Service, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales teams
• Prepare technical reports and maintain project documentation

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in product development, formulation, or industrial chemistry
• Knowledge of formulation chemistry, material science, and laboratory testing methods
• Professional proficiency in German and strong English communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
