DevOps Engineer (AWS)

About Us: The Unit is a software development company focused on Sports betting, Gambling & iGaming industries, with headquarters in Ireland. Our team is delighted to have been collaborating with customers from across the globe since 2017.

Currently, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer (AWS) to join our team in assisting one of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable deployments.
• Manage Kubernetes (K8s) clusters – provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Implement automation for system configuration, application deployment, and infrastructure management.
• Ensure the security, availability, and performance of production environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance cloud-native architectures and operational practices.
• Research, evaluate, and introduce tools and processes that drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
• Deep hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, IAM, Lambda, etc.).
• Strong proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Solid experience with Kubernetes (EKS or self‑managed clusters) and Docker.
• Skilled in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar).
• Strong scripting and automation abilities (Bash, Python, or equivalent).
• Understanding of networking, monitoring, and security best practices in cloud environments.
• Strong English communication skills (B2+).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving mindset.

Nice to Have

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar certifications.
• Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch).
• Familiarity with cost optimisation and performance tuning in AWS.
