Digital Consultant (m/f/d) R&D

As a Digital Consultant in Heraeus’ Corporate Consulting and Digitalization team, you will drive AI-enabled R&D initiatives, shaping how research and development leverage data, automation, and lab digitalization. You’ll design AI-powered research environments, integrate with lab systems and data platforms, and advance an innovation agenda across the group. You’ll partner with innovation leaders to accelerate time-to-market and build a cross-company ecosystem for digital transformation. • Identify and implement high-impact AI use cases across research, development, and innovation
• Design and support AI-enabled research environments, including lab systems and data platforms integration
• Drive AI-assisted research capabilities such as data analysis, knowledge discovery, experimental planning, and workflow automation
• Support the digital transformation of R&D by improving research workflows, data environments, and collaboration processes
• Contribute to a long-term digital innovation strategy, including AI integration and lab digitalization
• Monitor emerging technologies (e.g., generative AI, AI agents, digital labs) and translate them into practical use cases and pilots
• Build and strengthen a cross-company innovation ecosystem with internal and external partners
• Act as a trusted advisor to innovation leaders and drive cross-functional collaboration to accelerate innovation and reduce time-to-market

• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, natural sciences or a comparable technical field
• Several years of experience applying AI, data science or digital technologies in R&D, innovation organizations or technology-driven industries
• Strong understanding of existing and emerging AI technologies with direct relevance to scientific environments
• Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on implementation
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with senior innovation leaders and technical experts
• Experience working in international and cross-functional environments is a plus
