Digital Pathology Application Consultant (w/m/d) contributes to the continued successful growth of Leica Biosystems’ business by supporting and delivering Informatics & Workflow based solutions that provide customers with enhanced workflow and improved diagnostics. This role collaborates with the Sales organization to win complex projects in the anatomical pathology (AP) market, with a focus on Digital Pathology, Specimen Tracking and Workflow. Workflow describes the journey of the physical specimen through the AP lab from collection to diagnosis and the data produced through interactions with all systems (Leica and non-Leica).

This position is part of the commercial solutions department and will be fully remote .

Responsibilities

  • Deploy standard work tools to drive opportunities through the funnel by leading Need Finding, Current/Future State Analysis, Solution Design and presentation to internal and external customer stakeholders, in collaboration with local sales teams.
  • Audit customer IT ecosystems and advise on necessary improvements and change steps to adopt the customer’s desired solution, including topics such as PACS, DICOM, Storage & Archiving Integration, LIS systems, Data workflow and sample workflow symbiosis, data/cyber security, barcoding, and Leica and non-Leica system integration.
  • Obtain buy-in from important customer IT stakeholders and present the informatics component of the solution, handling technical objections and clarifications.
  • Explain to non-IT stakeholders how the Informatics component contributes to achieving the customer solution.
  • Explain to clinical stakeholders how the workflow component archives the customer’s goals and objectives.
  • Plan, present, and/or demonstrate hardware/software applications and workflow elements during sales meetings to build engagement, including demonstrations of the value proposition to obtain customer acceptance of the Leica Biosystems solution.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, exhibitions, and customer workshops as a delegate, trainer and/or subject matter expert.

Travel for business is required.

Essential requirements

  • University or professional qualification in IT & Informatics, Pathology, Histology, Biomedical Science and/or Imaging, or software applications (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Mirth, HL7 bidirectional and unidirectional LIS integration.
  • Knowledge of the role of PACS, DICOM, Integration and Archival in hospitals and labs.
  • Fluency in German and a good level of English.
  • Valid driving licence.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with histology equipment and laboratory processes.
  • Experience dealing with external parties such as third-party IT vendors.
  • Demonstration software applications and presenting solutions to a wide customer audience.
  • Track record in designing and selling informatics-based solutions in hospital/lab environments.
