Since our founding in 2012, this FinTech pioneer has empowered over one million investors to secure better interest rates, accumulating over €80 billion in assets and generating €5 billion in returns. With a dedicated team of over 800 professionals from 75+ countries, Raisin is dedicated to opening up the vast €160 trillion market by offering savings and investments without barriers.

We are seeking a highly motivated, driven, and experienced Director of Engineering to strategically and operationally lead our critical Investment & Pension Platform (IPP) teams, comprising over 25 engineers. This pivotal role is responsible for driving the conceptual excellence and delivery performance of our IPP, ensuring the robustness and health of the engineering organization and system landscape. You will champion efficient and compliant development processes, maintain technical and business ownership of the platform, and manage key vendor relationships.

Operating within Raisin's domain-driven organization, you will thrive in a unique binary-star leadership model, partnering closely with a Head or Director of Product. This is an unparalleled opportunity to make a significant impact across multiple cross-functional teams, influencing key areas such as delivery quality and speed, domain ownership, team and culture development, data strategy, and process compliance within a dynamic and rapidly expanding global FinTech environment.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Proven extensive experience as a Director of Engineering or a similar senior engineering leadership role, with a strong background in FinTech, Investment, or Pension domains.
  • Demonstrated capability in strategically and operationally leading, mentoring, and scaling engineering teams of 25+ individuals across multiple cross-functional units.
  • A strong track record of ensuring high-quality conceptualization, design, and delivery performance in complex software development environments.
  • Expertise in optimizing development processes to be both efficient and compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • A pragmatic leader with a proven ability to foster a culture of accountability, reusability, and continuous improvement within engineering teams.
  • Adept at identifying and resolving technical, operational, and organizational impediments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Experience in assuming technical and business ownership of a platform, including effective management of external vendor relationships.
  • Comfortable operating within a domain-driven organizational structure and a collaborative binary-star leadership model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Operational Leadership: Lead the Investment & Pension Platform (IPP) engineering organization, encompassing 25+ engineers, both strategically and operationally, in partnership with a Head/Director of Product.
  • Delivery Excellence: Be accountable for fulfilling agreed team commitments in terms of time, scope, and budget, ensuring high-quality conceptual and delivery performance.
  • Team & Culture Development: Nurture a high-performing engineering culture characterized by accountability, pragmatism, and reusability, while actively resolving team impediments.
  • Domain Ownership: Drive the technical and business ownership of Raisin’s IPP platform, ensuring the health, scalability, and robustness of the engineering organization and its system landscape.
  • Process & Compliance: Implement and uphold efficient, compliant, and robust development processes, ensuring adherence to relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Data Strategy Contribution: Actively contribute to and execute the data strategy relevant to the IPP domain, leveraging data to inform engineering decisions and product enhancements.
  • Vendor Management: Proactively manage vendor relationships critical to the IPP platform, ensuring alignment and efficient collaboration.
