Director (m/f/d), R&D Business Systems & Ops Management

In this role you drive the global R&D information systems strategy and operations, leading a growing team to ensure data quality, system reliability, and compliant delivery. You collaborate with IT, vendors, and business stakeholders to harmonize processes and support R&D objectives. You shape roadmaps, oversee projects, and champion inspections readiness to enable impactful medicines development. • Lead day-to-day management of administrative and operational support for assigned systems
• Steer data ownership, quality, and harmonized processes across globally
• Oversee user access, adoption, training, and issue resolution; monitor KPIs
• Define and prioritize system changes aligned to roadmaps and leadership imperatives
• Collaborate with IT and vendors to ensure short- and long-term objectives are met
• Lead business-led project deliverables including process engineering, requirements, testing, training, and support
• Ensure documentation for GxP R&D systems; support inspections as needed
• Manage project budgets, resources, risks, and status reporting
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve system effectiveness and delivery
• Mentor and develop a growing team, track performance, and build capability across the R&D IS function

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; 10+ years in life sciences supporting GXP validated systems
• Experience serving as liaison between Business & IT; translating needs into technical solutions
• Proven experience managing R&D systems and delivering IT projects in global, matrixed environments
• Experience with data quality or data stewardship; audit/inspection experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Knowledge of industry regulations relating to IT Data and Systems
• Line management experience for Business System Analysts, Project Managers, and Process Engineers
• Demonstrated experience in process engineering or reengineering and business case development
