Hiring: Director of Event Strategy & Programming - Deep Tech / AI / Innovation

Berlin preferred | UK/EU remote considered, with regular travel to Berlin

We're working with a high-growth European Deep Tech platform bringing together founders, investors, corporates, scientists and policymakers across AI and frontier technologies.

They're now looking for a Director of Event Strategy & Programming to shape and lead the programming of one of Europe's leading Deep Tech platforms.

This is a senior role for someone who knows how to identify the conversations that matter, build exceptional programmes, secure world-class speakers and turn ideas into high-impact events and content.

The role

You'll own the strategic and intellectual direction of DTM's flagship event programme - from defining the themes and agenda through to speaker curation, session design and delivery.

You'll sit at the intersection of events, editorial, strategy and ecosystem building.

This is not a conventional event operations or digital marketing role.

You'll help decide:

• What are the most important questions European Deep Tech should be asking?
• Which founders, investors, scientists and policymakers need to be in the room?
• What should the programme stand for?
• Which conversations deserve a stage?
• How do we turn those conversations into year-round influence?

What you'll be doing

Own flagship event programming

• Define the themes, agenda and intellectual direction
• Curate stages, sessions, formats and debates
• Identify emerging topics and trends across Deep Tech and AI
• Build a programme that attracts Europe's leading technology ecosystem

Build a world‑class speaker network

Develop relationships with leading:

• Founders
• Investors
• Scientists
• Corporate innovation leaders
• Operators
• Policymakers

and bring them into the DTM ecosystem.

Shape DTM's Deep Tech thesis

Develop perspectives across:

AI | Defence | Space | Energy | Robotics | Advanced Materials | TechBio | HPC

and translate complex technical developments into compelling themes, questions and conversations.

Build the year-round content platform

Turn the best ideas and conversations from the programme into:

• Editorial content
• Newsletters
• Reports
• Interviews
• Thought leadership
• Digital programming

Build the event-to-content flywheel

Conversations → Events → Content → Community → Influence

Work directly with the founders

Act as a strategic partner on positioning, narrative, programme direction and the ideas that should define DTM's next chapter.

Who we're looking for

What matters is that you've demonstrated the ability to develop ideas, build relationships and turn them into high-quality programmes or content.

You'll need:

• Excellent editorial and intellectual judgement
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Genuine curiosity about Deep Tech, science and AI
• Experience developing conference/event programmes or comparable intellectual platforms
• Confidence engaging founders, investors, scientists and senior executives
• Strong speaker/network-building skills
• Excellent organisation and execution
• The ability to work with high autonomy and build from scratch

  We're particularly interested in people who have personally shaped programmes, agendas, speaker line-ups or editorial franchises - rather than purely managed event logistics or digital marketing campaigns.

  €80,000 - €105,000 + equity (~1%)
