Director System Application Engineering (m/f/d)

In this role you lead System Application Engineering across regions to support U.S. customers in PAC and HPC markets. You’ll oversee Power/Analog, HPC V93K platforms, and CREA systems, guiding cross-functional teams toward timely, high-quality test solutions. You will shape strategies with R&D, Marketing and Sales to grow business and improve customer satisfaction. This leadership position combines hands-on technical oversight with people development in a fast-paced engineering environment. You will drive end-to-end deployment, global solution rollouts, and organizational effectiveness to deliver best-in-class semiconductor testing capabilities.

• Lead and develop System Application Engineering teams to meet business goals
• Identify emerging test requirements from market trends and customer needs
• Plan and guide software/system solutions for semiconductor testing and factory automation
• Collaborate with R&D, Sales, and other departments to ensure customer success
• Coordinate rollout of applications, DI solutions, and products to regional/worldwide teams
• Analyze customer problems to deliver rapid solutions with senior leadership involvement
• Enable smooth transition of test programs into high-volume manufacturing
• Develop strategies with Marketing and Sales to grow business and achieve goals
• Ensure efficient operation of SAE departments and processes, propose organizational changes if needed
• Oversee SAE headcount, budget planning, and reporting
• Provide leadership, coaching, and succession planning for team members
• Establish SAE project governance and cost-control measures
• Set up and maintain SAE infrastructure for project-oriented operation
• Maintain relationships with customers and Advantest units to support global solutions
• Stay abreast of trends and competitive landscape; share insights with leadership
• Maintain cost-conscious operations and contribute to overall corporate goals

• Engineering degree (Dipl.-lng. FH/TU), Master, or Bachelor
• Minimum 5 years international team management experience in ATE application support
• Solid English (written and spoken)
• Experience in team, people and project management
• Application and system expertise with ATE applications and test systems (competitors, customers; ideally on Advantest systems)
• Strong leadership, team-oriented workstyle, and ability to perform under stress
• Communicative and creative, structured and organized
• Willingness to travel (including overseas)
• Reliable and accurate; ability to guide, lead, organize, listen to and teach teams
