Dual Study Program in Mechanical Engineering – Design and Development

The dual study program for a Bachelor of Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Engineering lasts 3 years and offers a unique combination of theory and practice. The block structure alternates between approximately 3-month theory and practical phases. This enables you to gain not only technical and methodological knowledge but also the professional and social skills required in everyday work — preparing you optimally for your final exams and your future role at Weckenmann.

Practical Training

During the practical phases, you’ll become familiar with daily operations at Weckenmann. You'll support cross-departmental project teams in the design and development of machines and mechanical assemblies, and after a short time, you'll already take on your own projects. You’ll work at modern CAD workstations (SolidWorks), which form the foundation of your tasks.
