Stellenbeschreibung:

Our client is an international medical imaging device company headquartered in Germany, with operations across Europe and North America. As they continue to expand their engineering team, they are seeking an experienced Hardware Development Engineer / Electronics Engineer to support the development of next-generation medical imaging technologies.

This is a primarily on-site position based near Passau, Bavaria (Germany) , with hybrid working available where appropriate.

The role

As a Hardware Development Engineer, you will take hands-on responsibility for the development of electronic hardware used within advanced medical imaging systems.

The position has a strong focus on video signal processing, mixed-signal electronics and high-speed signal transmission, including the design and development of complex PCBs where signal integrity and EMC are critical.

You will work across the complete hardware development lifecycle, from requirements, hardware architecture and circuit design through schematic capture, PCB development/layout, prototype bring-up, debugging, verification, EMC testing and preparation for series production.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and develop analog, digital and mixed-signal electronic circuits for advanced medical imaging systems.
  • Develop electronics for video signal processing and high-speed signal transmission.
  • Design electronic circuits and PCBs with consideration for signal integrity, controlled high-speed signals, EMC/EMI and system-level performance.
  • Take hardware from requirements and circuit design through schematic capture, PCB development/layout, prototype bring-up, debugging, testing and verification.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot electronic assemblies and complete systems using appropriate laboratory and measurement equipment.
  • Perform and support signal integrity analysis, high-speed signal measurements and EMC testing/troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate and integrate new components, interfaces and electronic technologies into future product generations.
  • Support hardware integration, industrialisation and the transition of new designs into series production.
  • Collaborate closely with firmware, software, mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the complete product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate technical activities across international engineering teams and external development/manufacturing partners.

Required experience and qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in electronics or hardware development, ideally within medical devices, imaging, camera systems, machine vision or another complex electronic product environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience in electronic circuit and schematic design.
  • Strong practical experience with PCB design/layout and the development of complex multilayer electronic assemblies.
  • Demonstrable experience with video signal processing or video/camera signal electronics.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed digital electronics and signal integrity.
  • Strong experience with mixed-signal electronics, combining analog and digital circuitry.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, testing and verification using laboratory measurement equipment.
  • Practical understanding of EMC/EMI, including designing for EMC and troubleshooting issues during development and system-level testing.
  • Experience taking hardware through the broader development lifecycle towards industrialisation or series production.
  • Experience with high-speed video/camera interfaces such as LVDS, MIPI CSI-2, GMSL, FPD-Link, Camera Link, CoaXPress, HDMI, DisplayPort, SDI, USB3 Vision or GigE Vision would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience with Fusion 360 is advantageous.
  • Experience within medical imaging, camera systems, machine vision or optoelectronics would be highly advantageous.
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken, are essential.
