The Energy Team in the Gigafactory is responsible for secure and sustainable Energy Supply to the Gigafactory. The team is also responsible for continuously designing and implementing strategies/improvements to ensure optimum energy performance of the factory, working on energy efficiency and energy saving projects.

What You'll Do

  • Primary Contact for the Energy suppliers, Grid operators and other stakeholders in energy economics topics.
  • Development of procurement concept to develop sustainability goals for the Gigafactory.
  • Analyse Energy Market (DE/EU), mainly focusing on Wholesale and Flexibility Markets and acting as a subject matter expert.
  • Maintain and further develop Energy procurement strategy for the factory, mainly focusing on Supplier selection and writing tendering procedures.
  • Further development of longterm procurement strategy for Electricity and Natural Gas (including EEX/EPEX/THE, future/ spot markets, CO2 certificates etc)
  • Integration of Renewable Energy sources and utilization at an Industrial site – monitoring and ensuring accuracy of Market master data register (Markstammdatenregister)
  • Implement regulation for Charging stations (AFIR) and Greenhouse gas reduction quotas (THG Quote)
  • Coordinating the factory Load profile with the external stakeholders in a dynamic industrial environment.
  • Implementation of energy economic opportunities and risks assessment
  • Collaborating with Internal stakeholders within the factory for topics related to Energy laws.
  • Support in improving factory’s Energy efficiency through implementing improvement projects.
  • Preparing price forecast as per the Market outlook and communicate it to the relevant internal stakeholders.

What You'll Bring

  • Master's degree in Energy Economics, Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar field with 2 years of industrial experience.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of, among others EnEfG
  • Knowledge of Grid connected Energy Economy and Network operations
  • Strong ability to analyze and understand Energy Data
  • Proven record of working in Energy efficiency projects
  • Fluency in German and English language is a must.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate Project Management skills.
  • You have strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a large, complex environment where you must adapt to meet company needs
