Engineer Product Compliance & Sustainability (m/f/d) (Ref.Nr. )

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

Locations: Stuttgart and Arnstadt

Responsibilities

  • Analyze legal and customer-specific requirements in the field of environmental product compliance and sustainability, assessing risks and impacts.
  • Act as a central interface, inform and advise internal and external stakeholders on regulatory changes, methods, tools, and product innovations.
  • Maintain direct contact with customers, authorities, and suppliers regarding declarations, reporting, and information requests.
  • Ensure that relevant requirements such as RoHS, REACH, Ecodesign, recyclability, and environmental footprint are fully considered during bids and projects.
  • Establish and continuously optimize processes, documentation, and tools to improve efficiency and performance in compliance and sustainability.
  • Steer implementation across the supplier network, manage deviations and non‑compliances, define KPIs, and actively support contract and customer managers.

Qualifications

  • Hold a completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline, ideally focused on sustainability.
  • Possess solid knowledge of relevant standards, legislation, and regulations related to environmental product compliance and sustainability.
  • Have experience in a project- and engineering-driven environment, preferably within the rail or industrial sector (advantageous but not required).
  • Exhibit strong analytical skills, a structured way of working, and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrate a team-oriented personality, flexibility, solution orientation, and strong communication skills.
  • Possess very good German and English language skills to work confidently in an international environment.
