Engineer - Rust Ecosystem

In this role you advance Rust within the OpenHarmony ecosystem, integrating support into core crates and contributing to a high-performance UI framework and web rendering engine. You will collaborate with internal teams and the Rust/OpenHarmony communities to lay the foundations for cross-platform development on OpenHarmony devices. You drive optimization and provide robust Rust-C interfaces across the full stack, from hardware to applications. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape the Rust foundation of OpenHarmony and related tooling.

• Integrate OpenHarmony support into key Rust crates providing cross-platform abstractions
• Analyze and integrate a high-performance cross-platform Rust UI framework into OpenHarmony
• Contribute to a next-generation web rendering engine written in Rust and explore concurrency/performance improvements
• Investigate optimization opportunities for OpenHarmony devices on the HongMeng kernel
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Rust/OpenHarmony communities

• BSc/Master or PhD in Computer Science or related disciplines
• Profound knowledge of Rust and C
• Experience with Rust-FFI
• Broad knowledge in concurrency and parallelism
• History of contributing to open-source projects (in Rust) is a plus
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing is a plus
• Passion for software quality and performance, and openness to learn from failure
• Fluent in written and spoken English
