Engineering Automation Specialist (d/f/m) – Structure Repair

Overview

As an Automation Specialist (d/f/m) in the field of structural repair, you will play a key role in the digitalization and optimization of engineering processes. Your main focus will be the further development and automation of the Structure Repair Manual.

Responsibilities

• Development and optimization of ETL data pipelines (Extract, Transform, Load) for the automated processing of engineering data
• Programming of scripts (especially in Python) to integrate data between various systems and databases
• Creation of interfaces (“glue code”) enabling seamless data transfer between analysis tools, internal databases, and reporting solutions
• Digitalization of existing manual processes (e.g. Excel-based calculations) into automated applications or web-based tools
• Development of standardized templates and automated generators for technical documentation (e.g. stress dossiers)
• Maintenance and further development of internal databases and digital libraries
• Analysis of existing workflows to identify opportunities for automation
• Troubleshooting and support of automated tools and scripts
• Training team members in the use of digital tools and automation solutions
• Acting as an interface between engineering, IT, and other departments

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Several years of professional experience in engineering environments and IT / information systems
• Good knowledge of Python
• Basic knowledge of Unix and Java
• Experience in data processing, automation, and scripting
• First experience in project management is an advantage
• Excellent English skills (fluent/business proficient), German is a plus
