Engineering Manager, Data & Analytics

In this role you lead a 4–5 engineering team within Staffbase’s Data & Analytics function while staying hands-on as a technical player-coach. You own delivery, align stakeholders, and mentor engineers to raise the team’s performance. You will shape roadmaps, balance data platform needs with product delivery, and guide architectural decisions for a data-driven organization. The role centers on building a self-service data platform, advancing AI data governance, and enabling cross-functional collaboration at scale. You will be pivotal in turning data into trusted insights that power agentic analytics for customers.

• Lead and develop a 4–5 engineer team, coaching, unblocking delivery, and fostering a product-minded data engineering culture
• Own the team’s roadmap sequencing and negotiate priorities with product stakeholders
• Balance data platform needs with product delivery across multiple domains
• Provide hands-on guidance in Data streaming to steer the team through active transitions
• Raise data modeling standards and drive distributed data ownership across product teams
• Collaborate with the broader staff engineering community on cross-cutting architectural decisions
• Build foundations for AI data governance, including guardrails, access control, and safety for AI agents interacting with data

• Staff Engineer level (or equivalent) experience in data engineering with hands-on depth
• Genuine player-coach mindset and strong stakeholder management
• Solid data modeling skills and ability to standardize across the team
• Experience coaching engineers and fostering product thinking
• Strong communication and ability to drive cultural shifts toward self-service data ownership
• Comfort operating across both platform and product delivery contexts
