The Mission: Join a premier European HealthTech leader in Berlin that is redefining the practitioner-patient relationship. Following the success of their core platform - used by over 90 million patients - they are now building a specialised AI Phone Assistant team.

This isn't about AI strategy or research papers; it’s about high-stakes, production-grade Voice AI. We are looking for a Hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the development of a real-time speech-to-text and LLM-driven assistant that operates in a high-compliance healthcare environment.

The Role: AI Leadership in Production

As the Engineering Manager for the Phone Assistant Team, you will lead a high-performing squad of 6+ engineers. You will sit at the intersection of sophisticated backend engineering and cutting-edge Generative AI.

• Lead & Scale: Drive a collaborative team culture focused on user-centricity, mentoring engineers through rigorous technical challenges.
• Production-Grade AI: Own the end-to-end delivery of Voice AI products, ensuring reliability, security, and low-latency performance.
• Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Product leads to define the roadmap, translating health-tech requirements into scalable distributed architectures.
• Technical Stewardship: Participate in architecture reviews and remain hands-on enough to guide system design with a heavy emphasis on AI integration.

Who You Are

We are looking for a "Classical EM" who hasn't lost their technical edge—someone who understands the nuances of deploying models into a live environment.

• Experience: 8+ years in Software Engineering with at least 4+ years in a formal leadership/management role.
• AI Specialization: Proven track record of putting Generative AI, LLMs, or Voice/Speech technologies into production. Experience with prompt/context engineering and AI safety is highly valued.
• Technical Stack: Deep expertise in complex, scalable backend systems. While the platform is cloud-native and multi-language, a strong Python background is a significant advantage.
• Leadership Style: A "driver" who can navigate a rigorous hiring process and raise the bar for engineering excellence and team engagement.

Compensation & Details

• Salary: €120k – €125k
• Location: Berlin (Hybrid).
• Process: A structured 4-stage process including System Design (AI focused) and an EM Case Study.
