Bloomberg's Market Data platform powers critical analytics and real‑time decision‑making across global financial markets. We operate one of the largest, most latency‑sensitive data pipelines in the world---ingesting, normalizing, storing, and distributing hundreds of billions of events daily across 100M+ instruments.

We're adding team leads in two areas to support our growing Frankfurt engineering team:

• Market Data Feeds -- high‑volume exchange connectivity and normalization
• Market Data Storage & Retrieval -- large‑scale time‑series storage and query infrastructure

What You'll Lead

• Build, coach, and develop a high‑performing engineering team — hiring included.
• Drive architecture and delivery of scalable, low‑latency, highly available systems.
• Instill an engineering culture centered on clarity, accountability, and quality.
• Partner with stakeholders to align priorities, manage expectations, and deliver iteratively.
• Collaborate across global engineering groups to evolve shared infrastructure and standards.
• Establish team vision, operating model, and cultural foundations.

What You Bring

• Experience managing and mentoring engineers in a fast‑paced environment.
• A track record of delivering complex distributed systems or large‑scale infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills and comfort navigating high‑stakes, cross‑team work.
• Technical leadership that balances execution with long‑term strategic thinking.
• Recent, practical coding experience to participate in code reviews and handle scoped development work.
• Strong hands‑on experience with C++.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with globally distributed teams.
• Background in real‑time, high‑throughput, or fault‑tolerant systems.
• Exposure to financial market data or streaming data infrastructure.
