Coinbase is hiring an Enterprise Risk Manager to help drive the evolution of our risk management capabilities and ensure alignment between enterprise risks and the company’s strategic goals. This individual will work closely with cross‑functional teams to identify emerging risks, facilitate enterprise risk assessments, and strengthen Coinbase’s ability to anticipate, prioritize, and address material risks to the business. The right candidate will combine strategic insight with operational rigor and be comfortable engaging at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

Additionally, this person will be directly responsible for risk governance oversight for several of Coinbase’s legal entities as needed, including (but not limited to) Singapore, Australia and India. This necessitates ensuring that the broader risk governance program is conducted in a manner consistent with local regulatory expectations. The ERM Risk Manager will help drive cultural alignment and translate deep technical risk knowledge into actionable commercial understanding for executive and board‑level decision‑making. The role will act as both challenger and enabler to the business, providing independent second‑line perspective while enabling strong first‑line risk ownership.

What you’ll be doing

• Own and maintain risk profiles and risk registers, including synthesis on top risks, drivers, controls and forward‑looking outlook.
• Champion a strong risk culture, reinforcing accountability, transparency, and proactive risk identification.
• Lead and facilitate risk workshops, aggregate and prioritize risk inputs, and conduct deep dives on emerging and strategic risks.
• Maintain and continuously improve the enterprise risk taxonomy, risk appetite statements and assessment methodology.
• Monitor and accelerate material risks, trends, and emerging risks/threats to senior leadership and governance forums.
• Help develop and implement risk metrics (KRIs), dashboards, and reporting routines aligned with key strategic priorities.
• Partner with key functions (Legal, Finance, Compliance, Product, etc.) to embed Enterprise Risk Management in decision making.
• Provide risk governance oversight and lead risk management regulatory engagement for Coinbase entities including Singapore, Australia and India. Ensure that the risk governance program is conducted in a manner consistent with local regulatory expectations.
• Locally implement the global Enterprise Risk Management framework, including identifying key organizational risks, defining risk tolerances and appetites, and monitoring local Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
• Prepare executive‑facing material for internal meetings, Board meetings, and regulatory engagements.

What we look for in you

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management or an equivalent discipline.
• Demonstrated experience designing and scaling risk frameworks in complex, fast‑paced environments.
• Ability to translate risk data into strategic narratives and executive‑level insights.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional environment.
• A pragmatic, risk‑aware mindset with the ability to challenge constructively and influence outcomes.
• Knowledge of governance structures and risk committee operations.

Nice to haves

• Experience supporting regulatory exams; experience in financial services, fintech, crypto, or highly regulated tech companies.
• Familiarity with ERM and risk standards (COSO, ISO 31000, NIST, DORA, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience with GRC systems.
• Exposure to KRI/KPI design, risk appetite calibration, or control environment assessments.

Pay Transparency Notice

The target annual base salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full‑time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity eligibility, and benefits (including medical, dental, and vision). Base salary range: ₹6,612,600 — ₹6,612,600 INR.
