Experienced Field Application Engineer

In this role you engage with customers early to identify GF’s best technical solutions and drive opportunities toward tapeout and revenue. You work cross-functionally with GF experts to convert needs into design-winning proposals and resolve barriers to adoption. You will support customers across development stages and help bridge technical and commercial terms. The position emphasizes collaboration, problem solving, and delivering practical semiconductor solutions at scale.

• Engage with customers to understand technical needs for semiconductor IC development
• Assess competitive landscape and advocate GF value propositions
• Collaborate with account managers, product marketing, and technical experts to craft application-specific presentations
• Align technical and commercial terms in design-winning proposals with account teams
• Identify and resolve issues to convert design wins into production-ready designs for tapeout
• Advocate for GF feature improvements to close competitive gaps
• Perform activities safely and comply with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 15 years in semiconductor industry including design and/or process
• Working knowledge of IC chip design flows and tools from architectural definition through performance characterization
• Experience in Technical Program Management and cross-functional teamwork
• Travel up to 20%, primarily within Europe
• Fluency in English (written and verbal)
