(Experienced) Process Integration Engineer (f/m/d)

In this role you drive robust, scalable process integration for integrated graphene photonics and high-speed optical interconnects at a 300 mm fab in Aachen. You will translate observations into improvements, moving technology from development toward volume manufacturing while ensuring high performance, reliability and yield. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to mature the technology and optimize manufacturing sequences in a dynamic startup-like environment. • Develop and qualify process flows and integration schemes for integrated photonic devices to meet product requirements
• Plan and execute process integration studies to support technology maturation and mass production transition
• Lead small-to-medium integration projects and contribute to larger development programs
• Develop data collection strategies and perform quantitative analysis to guide decisions
• Translate observations into actionable recommendations to improve quality, manufacturability, and yield
• Communicate findings across Optical Design, System Design, Characterization, Graphene, and other cross-functional teams
• Engage with Process Engineering to define and refine process specifications for 300 mm manufacturing
• Abide by change-management protocols to implement evidence-based improvements
• Thrive in a dynamic startup environment, managing ambiguity and interdependencies

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Materials Science, or related fields
• 5+ years of experience in Process Integration within a semiconductor fab (ideally 300 mm)
• Proven track record leading complex technology development, process optimization, yield improvement, defect reduction, or reliability enhancement
• Strong expertise in FMEA, SPC, DoE, and data analysis with hands-on use of JMP
• Excellent English communication skills with ability to present complex data cross-functionally
