Field Service Engineer

Overview

Field Service Engineer role to support European customers, primarily in Germany and surrounding German-speaking regions. Provide on‑site and in‑house servicing, repair and installation of instruments and troubleshoot for minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and in‑house servicing, repair and installation of instruments and their components.
• Propose solutions to instrument issues and service problems of low to moderate complexity.
• Provide technical support to customers via telephone, email, and on‑site service for operational or maintenance aspects of instruments to minimize customer downtime.
• Develop broad knowledge of STEMCELL instruments, including remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical, hardware, and software‑related failures.
• Support the development and use of service and assembly procedures, train new staff as required, and assist with continuous improvement in product design and manufacturing.
• Manage your workday and schedule customer visits, maintain spare parts inventory, and assist with work scheduling and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Technician with a vocational degree in electrical and/or mechanical engineering, B. Eng., or equivalent. M. Eng. or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience with robotics, vision systems, liquid handling automation, machine controls, and software systems.
• Excellent communication skills in English and German (verbal, written, and presentation). Additional languages such as French are an asset.
• Excellent customer‑facing skills with a proven track record of maintaining customer satisfaction and instrument performance.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: €53,500.00 – €72,300.00. Salary determined within this range based on experience, education and job‑related skills. Comprehensive total rewards package may include health benefits, retirement savings, and other benefits depending on region.
