Finance Operations Specialist

Are you excited by finance operations that go beyond traditional accounting?

We’re looking for a Finance Operations Specialist for our client to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, ensure data accuracy across systems, and help improve processes through automation. This is not a bookkeeping-focused position, as bookkeeping is handled externally. Instead, the role is about process ownership, data integrity, and building smoother financial workflows.

This role is dedicated to candidates willing to work at least 3 days from the office in Hamburg.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own billing and invoicing processes across multiple business units from start to finish
• Reconcile data across internal dashboards and ERP systems to maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency
• Ensure accurate payment flows and strong data integrity across systems
• Manage the finance inbox and act as a key point of contact for partner requests
• Identify and drive improvements in processes, introduce better tools, and automate repetitive tasks
• For more senior candidates, take on reporting responsibilities such as weekly, monthly, and yearly reports, and support invoice-related optimization to help the business operate more efficiently

REQUIREMENTS

• 2-4 years of professional experience in Finance Operations, Accounting, or a similar area
• Fluent English and German (B2 German also acceptable)
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP knowledge is a strong plus)
• Strong attention to detail and a process-driven mindset
• Interest in systems, data flows, automation, and continuous improvement
• Comfortable working in a role where Excel alone would not be enough, and where finance operations are closely connected to systems and tooling
