Financial Controller | High-Growth FinTech | Berlin (Hybrid)

I’m working with a high-growth FinTech business that is continuing to scale across Europe and strengthen its finance function. Operating within a regulated environment and experiencing significant international growth, the company is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to play a key role in supporting its next phase of expansion.

This is a broad and highly visible position, offering responsibility across financial control, statutory reporting, audit management, tax compliance, and finance systems. You will partner closely with senior finance leadership while helping to build scalable processes and controls in a fast-paced, international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Control & Reporting: Own the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate management reporting across multiple entities.
• Audit & Statutory Accounts: Lead annual audits and oversee statutory reporting requirements across international jurisdictions.
• Technical Accounting: Prepare technical accounting papers, maintain accounting policies, and strengthen internal controls.
• Tax & Compliance: Coordinate with external advisors on transfer pricing, VAT, payroll taxes, and broader international compliance matters.
• Treasury & Cash Management: Maintain strong oversight of cash flow, liquidity, FX exposure, and intercompany balances.
• ERP & Systems Optimisation: Drive finance systems improvements, automation initiatives, and ensure audit-ready reporting processes.
• Business Partnering: Work closely with senior leadership to support decision-making and sustainable growth.

What We’re Looking For:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualified accountant with 3+ years PQE.
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller or within a senior controllership position.
• Strong experience within FinTech, Payments, Banking, Financial Services, or another regulated sector.
• Exposure to international, multi-entity group structures and cross-border compliance.
• Strong understanding of statutory reporting, audit management, and financial controls.
• Hands-on ERP and finance systems experience, with a focus on process improvement and automation.
• Comfortable engaging with auditors, tax advisors, and senior stakeholders.
• Fluent in both English and German.
