Financial Controller - BESS & Renewable Energy (m/w/d)

Second Foundation is a global energy trading company with around 500 employees across locations in Prague HQ (CZ), Zug (CH), Mainz (DE), Berlin (DE), Charlotte (USA), and Tokyo (JP). We specialize in integrating and optimizing the marketing of renewable energy and battery storage systems in power markets, and have been actively expanding our own asset base, with a primary focus on battery storage.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Controller to support the financial and commercial management of our BESS and renewable energy projects. You will oversee budgets, cash flow forecasting, financial reporting, and commercial risks while working closely with internal teams and external partners throughout the project lifecycle.

What you would work on?

Financial managementof BESS projects across development, construction, and operations.
Financial reporting, budget control, cash flow monitoring, and forecasting.
Support ofinvestment decisions through cost analysis, financial modeling, and sensitivity assessments.
Collaboration with international teams and external partners, including accounting, audit, and tax advisors.
Ensuring compliance with internal controls and supporting continuous improvement of financial and commercial processes.

What makes you a great candidate?

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, ora related field.
3–5 years of relevant experience in commercial, finance, or controlling roles.
Strong understanding of project-based commercial structures (CAPEX, OPEX, contracts, cash flows).
Experience in the renewable energy sector (BESS, solar, wind, orhybridprojects) is an advantage.
Familiaritywith EPC, O&M, and service contracts is an advantage.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Fluent in EnglishandGerman.
