FP&A / Controlling Manager (Future Head of Controlling)

Location: Berlin or Cologne

Language: Full professional fluency in German and English required

We are partnering with a high-growth, Germany-based digital solutions provider with a strong footprint in regulated and public sector environments. The business is scaling rapidly and offers a unique opportunity to work directly with an experienced Group CFO on both operational finance and strategic initiatives.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact role with a clear succession plan into Head of Controlling within approximately two years. You will act as the CFO’s right hand, taking ownership of core FP&A and controlling activities while enabling the CFO to focus increasingly on strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead FP&A and controlling processes across the group
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
• Act as a true business partner to senior stakeholders
• Take ownership of operational finance topics and improve processes
• Support strategic initiatives
• Build and enhance reporting structures and decision-making tools

What We’re Looking For

• 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in FP&A, controlling, or transaction-related roles
• Background in either:
  • Consulting with some industry exposure, or
  • Pure corporate finance / controlling
• Strong analytical and commercial mindset
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• High ambition, ownership mentality, and the drive to grow into a leadership role
• Full professional fluency in both German and English
