PACE Engineering and IT , a company of the TXT Group, is looking for a Flight Dynamics Modelling Engineer .
An essential aspect of this role is the modeling and analysis of flight system dynamics to enable the rapid development and evaluation of advanced AI-based and control capabilities.
As a member of a small team of specialized engineers, you will be responsible for creating, refining, and validating dynamical systems models from fundamental principles, integrating numerical methods, simulation tools, and experimental or test data to ensure highly faithful representations of real‑world behavior.
Main responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end flight dynamics models for various aerial platforms—from defining model architectures and specifying numerical or experimental campaigns to validating models through flight testing.
- Define, support, and execute test activities aimed at validating and refining dynamic models, ensuring alignment with system performance objectives.
- Collaborate closely with interfacing engineering disciplines, including Control Systems, Aerodynamics, and Flight Testing, to ensure model consistency and technical coherence across domains.
- Participate in and analyse flight test campaigns, assessing results to enhance model accuracy and fidelity.
Indispensable technical skills
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, with the ability to design, implement, and validate complex dynamic system models.
- Possess a solid foundation in aerodynamics, flight stability and control, and system modelling principles, supported by practical experience in applying these disciplines to real‑world aerospace systems.
- Demonstrate robust software engineering capabilities, producing clean, structured, and maintainable code in modern programming languages such as Python, Rust, Java, or C++.
Optional technical skills
- Experience in control systems design, applied aerodynamics, and system identification, with practical application to flight dynamics and performance analysis.
- Prior experience in deploying dynamic models to real‑time test environments, such as Hardware‑in‑the-Loop (HIL) or other system integration rigs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly and efficiently report technical findings to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Behavioural skills
- Demonstrate strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical results and complex information clearly and effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
Education
- Degree, Bachelor's certificate, Master in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree
Languages
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Experience Level
- Mid‑level: 3–5 years
- Senior: 6+ years
