Flight Dynamics Modelling Engineer

In this role you will build and validate flight dynamics models for Helsing's aerial platforms, spanning from first principles to flight-test validation. Your work directly informs control laws, simulators and autonomy development, shaping how quickly and safely new capabilities reach air systems. You’ll collaborate with control, aerodynamics and test engineers, designing experiments and communicating results to internal and external partners. • Develop end-to-end flight dynamics models from architecture to validation against flight-test data
• Plan and execute numerical and experimental campaigns with clear acceptance criteria for simulation and control use
• Collaborate with control, aerodynamics and test teams to integrate models into control design and autonomy development
• Attend flight tests and convert telemetry into improvements in model fidelity
• Document assumptions, limitations and validation results to support evidence-based programme decisions

• Built and validated flight dynamics models from first principles and validated against real flight or experimental data
• Strong grounding in aerodynamics, stability and control, and systems modelling from engineering education or equivalent
• Proficiency in Matlab and Simulink
• Clean, well-structured coding ability in Matlab and at least one of Python, Rust, Java or modern C++
• Excellent written and verbal communication to technical and non-technical audiences
