The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) is one of the world"s leading centers for fusion research. These power plants generate energy without climate-damaging emissions, are safe, sustainable and nearly limitless - just like the sun. Fusion power plants have the potential to play an important role in supplying energy to future generations.At the IPP site in Garching we are conducting research on the large-scale experiment ASDEX Upgrade. This is a fusion plant of the world-famous tokamak type. We are currently filling an important position as Foreign Language Secretary in the EUROfusion Programme Management to support the activities of the Project Management and Industry Office (PMIO).EUROfusion coordinates research activities performed by its beneficiaries and affiliated entities, co-funded by the European Commission’s EURATOM programme in support of the European Research Roadmap aiming at the Realisation of Fusion Energy. EUROfusion is a European-wide consortium of fusion research bodies. It brings together 28 member institutes, 3 associated partners and 167 affiliated entities from across Europe. It supports and funds fusion research activities on behalf of EURATOM in 26 EU member states plus Ukraine, while Switzerland, Norway and the United Kingdom participate funded by their national budgets. The EUROfusion programme focuses on preparing the ITER experiments and developing a concept for the future demonstration fusion power plant (DEMO). The EUROfusion consortium collaborates with Fusion for Energy, the ITER Organisation (IO) and other international partners; and is a member of EIROforum. The PMIO supports the Programme Manager in the implementation of the European Fusion Roadmap and the achievement of the milestones across the eight Missions defined in the EU roadmap by coordinating the EUROfusion activities related to Training and Education, Technology transfer, Information Technology, monitoring of the grant deliverables and milestones as well as some industry relations. Occasionally, this position may need to support the PMU secretariat, the Administration department and the Communications office.

Your Responsibilities

• Preparation and monitoring of purchase requisitions, monitoring the advertising material archive, and reordering if necessary
• Distribution of information materials, e.g., to consortium members and EUROfusion scholarship holders
• Central contact person for the external experts, PMU and the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) (managing all stages of the process, from first contact with the expert until payment)
• Monitoring of the reporting for Education and Training (annual and interim reports)
• Collaboration with IPP and use of IPP services/tools (e.g. eProcurement, xSuite, DI application)

Your Qualifications

• Administrative Expertise: Proven experience in managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and organizing domestic and international travel.
• Ability to accurately translate a variety of documents and interpret conversations during meetings.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and German.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office software.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities, with a strong focus on attention to detail and time management.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work, capable of handling a demanding workload and a variety of different task
• The ability to work well with others, both independently and as part of a team.

• The salary is based on the assignment of tasks and qualifications and goes up to salary grade 8 according to the German public sector tariff (TVöD Bund), subsidies for capital-forming benefits and annual bonus payments
