Forward Deployed AI Engineer, Germany

As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you will deploy ICEYE’s intelligence platform into secure environments and rapidly ship AI-powered workflows. You’ll build containerized solutions and data pipelines that fuse SAR imagery with intelligence data to support analysts and decision-makers. This role combines hands-on engineering with customer engagement, often working on-site at government or defense customers. You will ship practical AI tools quickly, while shaping deployments that meet strict security and operational needs. Your work directly enables rapid, mission-critical decisions in challenging environments.

• Deploy ICEYE platform into on-premise, air-gapped environments and manage containerized applications in customer Kubernetes clusters
• Develop APIs and data pipelines linking ICEYE to customer C4ISR and intelligence tools
• Troubleshoot deployments in disconnected environments without internet access
• Build RAG systems combining SAR data with customer documents for context-aware analysis
• Develop AI agents and workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, or similar tools
• Implement prompt engineering and conversational interfaces for satellite data queries
• Create MCP integrations connecting AI systems with customer data sources
• Construct data fusion pipelines combining SAR imagery with additional intelligence sources and automate cross-referencing across modalities
• Create lightweight dashboards and alerting tailored to operational needs
• Work embedded with analysts, data scientists, and military operators to understand mission-critical problems and gather feedback

• 3+ years hands-on software engineering building and deploying production systems
• Strong Python programming skills plus one of Go, TypeScript, or Rust
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG systems
• Knowledge of agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, pydantic-ai) and vector databases
• Experience with Docker and deploying in secure / air-gapped environments
• APIs, data pipelines, and production system integration
• Familiarity with Linux and basic Kubernetes operations
• Excellent communication and ability to engage with customers
