Forward Deployed Engineer - EMEA

As Forward Deployed Engineer at n8n, you will transform large enterprise deployments into production-grade automation that customers can own. You’ll collaborate with Deployment Strategists, Product and Engineering to design scalable workflows, extend integrations, and convert customer contexts into reusable patterns. You’ll conduct on-site engagements, generate actionable outcomes, and feed learnings back into product playbooks. This role combines hands-on engineering with customer-facing impact to shape the future of automation at scale.

• Drive high-impact enterprise deployments and deliver production workflows
• Embed on-site with enterprise customers during 5-day engagements, bringing hypotheses and delivering tangible outcomes
• Collaborate with Deployment Strategists to align execution with customer priorities and adoption goals
• Design and build production-grade automation solutions, including workflows, integrations, and custom nodes
• Extend existing nodes or add functionality to unlock high-value use cases across environments
• Translate ambiguous business problems into concrete automation designs that emphasize customer value
• Work across industries and tech stacks to rapidly become productive in new environments
• Identify opportunities to convert bespoke customer needs into reusable product features and contribute to internal playbooks

• Strong engineering background with production experience in full-stack or backend roles
• Expertise in building integrations, APIs, or automation pipelines; comfortable with APIs, authentication patterns, data models, and event-driven systems
• Product-minded technical execution; ability to distinguish between workarounds, reusable improvements, and product features
• Customer-facing confidence with engineers, operators, and non-technical stakeholders
• Solution design skills to turn operational problems into practical technical designs
• Strong technical judgment to avoid over-engineering and maintain simplicity
• Willingness to travel ~50-60% across Europe for on-site engagements
• Ability to quickly understand new industries and tech stacks without complete upfront definitions
