Forward Deployed Geospatial Engineer - SAR Intelligence, Germany

As a Forward Deployed Geospatial Engineer, you translate SAR data into actionable intelligence for defense and intelligence customers. You will be embedded with analysts and operators, operationalizing ICEYE's ISR Suite, and configuring automated workflows to deliver timely situational awareness. This role sits at the intersection of SAR physics and mission execution across maritime and land domains. You’ll work to maximize the tactical value of ICEYE imagery on real-world missions. • Train and support intelligence analysts in using SAR imagery for tactical missions (maritime, ground, infrastructure)
• Configure and optimize the ICEYE ISR Suite for customer use cases and mission outputs
• QA/validate SAR imagery to meet operational requirements
• Develop Python-based geospatial automation tailored to customer needs
• Integrate ICEYE SAR data into customer COP environments (ArcGIS, QGIS, proprietary platforms)
• Implement automated detection/alerting for priority intelligence requirements (e.g., dark vessels, border anomalies, change detection)
• Serve as SAR/geospatial SME for defense and intelligence customers
• Provide embedded, real-time analytical support on watch floors during missions
• Capture operational feedback and translate into product/engineering requirements
• Document use cases and best practices for reuse and future capabilities

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field
• Understanding of SAR physics, including polarimetry, interferometry, and imaging modes
• Strong Python programming for geospatial data processing (GDAL, Rasterio, NumPy, GeoPandas)
• Hands-on experience analyzing satellite imagery for intelligence or operational use
• Ability to translate complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent English communication skills (written & spoken) for training and presentations
• Willingness to travel 30-50% to customer sites within the region
