FP&A Specialist (m-f-x)

Your Role

You thrive at the center of complex financial operations, acting as a key connector across functions such as credit risk, regulatory reporting, balance sheet analysis, and capital management. You excel at understanding how these areas interrelate, translating complexity into clear insights, and maintaining a strategic overview without needing to be the deepest technical expert in every domain. Your strength lies in simplifying cross‑functional challenges, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring cohesive decision‑making across the business.

• Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Lead budget and multi-year planning cycles.
  • Monitor performance vs. plan and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Build integrated P&L, balance sheet, liquidity, and capital models.
• Performance Reporting
  • Prepare monthly reporting packs and variance analysis.
  • Analyse unit economics, margins, and capital impacts.
  • Ensure alignment across management, accounting, and regulatory views.
• Direct Costs & OPEX Controlling
  • Plan and track direct costs, vendor spend, and OPEX.
  • Analyse cost drivers and partner cost‑to‑serve.
  • Partner with Procurement and P&O on accurate forecasting and cost optimisation.
• Controls & Governance
  • Support budgeting governance and four‑eyes processes.
  • Ensure accurate allocations, accruals, and audit‑ready documentation.
• Business Partnering
  • Provide financial guidance to Tech, Commercial, Product, Risk, and Operations.
  • Support pricing, partner onboarding, and strategic initiatives.

We’d love to see

• 5+ years’ experience in banking, fintech, strategy consulting, investment banking, or financial planning/controlling.
• Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Mathematics, or similar.
• Strong financial modelling across P&L, balance sheet, and capital.
• Advanced Excel & PowerPoint; experience with SQL, VBA, Python, Pigment is a plus.
• Solid understanding of financial statements and cost structures in regulated industries.
• Analytical, structured, detail‑oriented, and hands‑on.
• Strong communicator able to translate complexity into clarity
• Effective collaborator across functions; comfortable with senior stakeholders, auditors, and regulators.
• Able to challenge assumptions, negotiate priorities, and operate in fast‑moving environments.
• Strong interest in fintech, banking, and regulatory frameworks.
• Fluency in English; strong German skills are a plus.
