Freelance MES Tulip Consultant - Germany - Long-term project

Overview

StellarNexus is hiring an experienced MES Tulip Consultant for a long-running rollout at an established manufacturing client in Germany. This is a full-time freelance engagement starting May 2026 and running through April 2027 — a rare stretch of contract stability in a niche skill area. The role is hybrid, with approximately one week per month onsite in Germany and the remainder fully remote.

You will own the local site rollout cycle end-to-end — from requirements gathering through go-live and cutover.

Responsibilities

• Run Fit/Gap analysis and translate local site requirements into functional specifications
• Configure and build local requirements in Tulip Interfaces, including unit-test definition
• Update test scenarios , prepare test data, execute IT and Core Tests, and support KUT (Key User Test) cycles
• Support Key User and End User training during rollout
• Document architecture decisions and contribute reusable templates to the project's central design

Required qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience as a Tulip Consultant or Tulip Developer on real production rollouts
• Solid background in MES rollout methodology — fit/gap workshops, functional specs, test cycles, cutover planning, hypercare
• Demonstrated ability to interface directly with plant Key Users and customer IT teams
• Fluent business English (working language)
• Available for approximately 1 week per month onsite in Germany; remote the rest of the month
• Eligible to work as a freelancer / self-employed contractor in the EU

Preferred qualifications

• German language skills is a plus.
• Prior MES experience on Siemens Opcenter, Werum PAS-X, Dassault Apriso, AVEVA, or Rockwell FactoryTalk — with a documented transition to Tulip
• GxP / 21 CFR Part 11 validation exposure for regulated environments
