We are looking for YOU as Function Owner Radar (m/w/d) - Product Line Detect for our location in Bietigheim .

These Challenges Await You

  • Truck-Specific Requirement Engineering: Define and manage functional requirements specific to the truck market, including Blind Spot Information Systems (BSIS - UN R151) and Moving Off Information Systems (MOIS - UN R159).
  • Functional Architecture: Adapt radar sensing strategies to account for truck-specific geometries, such as long wheelbases, high mounting positions, and articulated vehicle dynamics (tractor-trailer coordination).
  • Customer Technical Interface: Serve as the primary technical contact for Truck OEMs to capture specific use cases (e.g., trailer detection, rear-ward monitoring, and docking maneuvers) and translate them into system specifications.
  • Functional Safety & Regulation: Ensure that the radar system complies with heavy-duty vehicle safety standards and specific European/Global regulations for commercial vehicle safety.
  • Validation Strategy: Define and oversee the validation plan for truck functions, including specific test maneuvers for articulated vehicles and multi-sensor configurations (e.g., side-looking radars).
  • Product Adaptation: Collaborate with the hardware and software teams to ensure the radar product meets the increased durability, voltage (24V), and environmental requirements of the trucking industry.

You Inspire Us With That

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • System Engineering Experience: Proven track record as a Function Owner or System Engineer in the ADAS domain, with experience in requirement management tools such as DOORS.
  • Truck Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial vehicle architectures, including pneumatic systems, 24V electrical systems, and vehicle communication protocols (J1939).
  • Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with international regulations for heavy-duty vehicles such as GSR II requirements for trucks.
  • Communication: Excellent negotiation and presentation skills to drive technical discussions with global truck manufacturers.
