General Counsel

A growing clean energy company supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy system. The business works across renewable energy markets, helping optimise and manage renewable assets through commercial energy solutions, trading activities and long-term agreements.As General Counsel, you will lead the legal function and act as a trusted adviser to the executive leadership team. You will provide strategic and commercially focused legal support across the business, covering project development, commercial contracts, corporate matters, financing, governance, compliance and risk management. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel, you will ensure legal risks are effectively managed while enabling the business to achieve its growth objectives.The Role:Lead and manage the company's legal function across multiple jurisdictions.Advise senior leadership on strategic legal and commercial matters.Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.Support renewable energy development, construction and operational projects.Provide advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management.Manage external legal counsel and oversee legal budgets.Support M&A transactions, project acquisitions and financing activities.Develop and enhance legal processes, governance and compliance frameworks.The PersonQualified lawyer in GermanySignificant in-house legal experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities or a comparable project-based industry.Strong experience negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements.Knowledge of renewable energy projects, EPC, O&M, project development, land, financing and corporate matters.Commercially minded, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Fluent German and English.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced legal professional to join a renewable energy business in a leadership role, where you will have a genuine impact on the company's continued growth and success.For a confidential discussion, please contact:
