Mechanical Lead (m/f/d) Data Center Construction Your Tasks PORR is expanding its data center activities and is seeking a Mechanical Lead to manage mechanical site delivery on a large data center construction project. The role covers mechanical installation, plant coordination, subcontractor management, technical interfaces, quality control, testing support, and commissioning readiness. Leadership of mechanical works on site, including cooling systems, chilled water, pipework, ventilation, CRAH/CRAC units, plant rooms, pumps, valves, supports, insulation, and fire protection interfaces Coordination of mechanical subcontractors and verification of compliance with current drawings, specifications, and approved method statements Review of mechanical drawings, technical submissions, procurement status, and installation details Coordination of plant access, lifting routes, installation sequence, maintenance zones, and testing areas Coordination of mechanical interfaces with electrical, CSA, BMS, controls, fire protection, and commissioning teams Tracking of long-lead equipment, testing readiness, flushing, pressure testing, balancing, and pre-commissioning status Coordination of inspections with QA/QC and completion of test records and handover documents Safe control of mechanical works, including lifting, pressure testing, hot works, and permit requirements
Your Profile Degree in mechanical engineering or comparable mechanical qualification Minimum 8 years' mechanical construction experience on large projects Experience in data center, mission-critical, industrial, energy, or high-tech projects preferred Strong knowledge of cooling systems, chilled water, ventilation, plant installation, pipework, valves, supports, testing, and commissioning interfaces Good understanding of maintainability, access, water quality, leak prevention, and BMS/controls interfaces Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and vendor packages Relevant mechanical qualifications or construction licences desirable Fluency in English; German or Polish language skills advantageous
