GL Accountant (m/f/d) - fixed term

About the Role

We are looking for a GL Accountant (m/f/d) to join our EMEA Headquarters in Frankfurt. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of our general ledger, support statutory and group reporting requirements, and collaborate closely with finance teams across Europe, Singapore, and Japan. The position is open as parental leave cover on a fixed term basis, initially for one year with the option to be extended.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate, complete, and timely accounting of business transactions in the general ledger
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in accordance with IFRS and HGB
• Prepare and post accruals, provisions, and prepayments
• Support internal and external reporting activities, including J-SOX requirements
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and statistical reports in Germany and other jurisdictions
• Coordinate tax-related matters with external advisors and tax authorities
• Participate in cross-functional projects representing the Finance function
• Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities
• Support the wider Accounting team on operational and project-related activities

Requirements

• Completed vocational training or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a comparable accounting role
• Solid knowledge of financial accounting principles and closing processes
• Experience with SAP and advanced Excel skills
• Good German and English language skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Ability to work effectively in an international and collaborative environment
