Global Application Development Manager – Carbon Black, Wire & Cable

Lead the technical development of Orion’s Wire & Cable segment
Advance carbon black solutions for high-voltage subsea and underground power cable systems worldwide
Understand key customer development requirements and translate them into application concepts
Guide technical collaboration from initial ideas through successful industrial implementation
Convert emerging technologies and market needs into portfolio recommendations
Provide technical leadership for global development initiatives
Shape long-term technology and product strategy for the segment
Monitor market, competitor and patent developments
Secure technical continuity and develop next-generation applications
Serve as a central reference for Wire & Cable applications across Orion

Requirements

Extensive experience in a senior technical, application development or innovation role involving polymer compounding with carbon black
Ideally within high-voltage subsea or underground cable applications
Academic background in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a comparable discipline
Substantial industrial experience in product development, application engineering and implementation
Established expert in the field with an understanding of performance requirements and the interaction between materials, processing conditions and end‑product performance
Experience within the energy, high-voltage or cable industry is highly desirable
Strong understanding of customers, markets and commercial priorities
Ability to identify performance characteristics and translate technical advantages into customer value
Ownership, curiosity and ambition to create lasting impact
Comfortable influencing customers and partners across cultures and levels
Fluent English at minimum C1 level; additional languages are an advantage
Willingness to travel internationally approximately 20% of the time.
