Overview

This hands‑on technical leadership role sits within ABB Robotics – a global leader in industrial robotics – and is part of the Global R&D Platform team. You will shape the evolution of electrical power‑train technologies for industrial and mobile robots across the business offering, working with R&D specialists and cross‑functional teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Drive the evolution of electrical power‑train technologies for ABB Robotics mechatronics platforms, ensuring strong alignment with product and platform roadmaps.
• Contribute to shaping technology and product strategy, including research direction, roadmaps, system architecture, and intellectual property management.
• Lead development of technical standards to support scalable, high‑performance solutions.
• Act as a senior technical reference for engineering teams, customers, and business management, supporting complex problem solving and collaboration across internal and external networks.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in mechatronics development, servo‑drive and motor‑control technologies.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear and actionable insights.
• PhD in a relevant field, or equivalent experience from industrial research and development.
