GNC Expert

TECHNE is looking for GNC Engineers for defence aerospace projects based in Munich.

These are senior individual contributor roles working on next generation aerospace platforms across fixed-wing and drone domains.

The roles sit at the technical core of the platform, covering guidance, navigation, control, and GNC systems architecture. You will own your domain end to end and shape how the platform flies.

You will work directly with engineering leadership and the wider flight sciences team across the full GNC development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the GNC architecture across your domain
• Develop guidance, navigation, or control algorithms suited to the platform
• Lead estimation, sensor fusion, or flight control law design and implementation
• Drive the loop from simulation through to hardware in the loop and flight test
• Set technical standards across the GNC stack
• Collaborate across flight software, hardware, and systems engineering teams

Required Experience

• Strong GNC engineering background across one or more of guidance, navigation, control, or systems
• Experience across the full GNC development lifecycle
• Comfortable owning technical decisions end to end
• Strong fundamentals in classical and modern control, estimation, or guidance theory
• Hands on experience with simulation, HITL, and flight data analysis
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Fixed-wing aircraft or drone platform experience
• Background at a leading aerospace prime, defence startup, or high-performance engineering environment
• Exposure to PX4, ArduPilot, or comparable flight stacks
• Embedded C++ in safety critical or real time environments
• Sensor fusion, INS/GNSS integration, or GPS-denied navigation
• Eligibility for EU or NATO aligned clearance processes
