Our Multiplayer Servers team is at the forefront of creating distributed backend systems. We are passionate about building robust, scalable, and high-performance systems which power our world-class Infrastructure-as-a-Service platform for multiplayer games. We are seeking a driven and highly skilled Backend Engineer with a keen eye for architecture and optimization to join our Multiplayer Servers team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core backend services that run GameFabric’s IaaS platform which supports top of the line multiplayer games by studios from across the world reaching players across the globe. You will work on critical enterprise grade systems that manage hundreds of thousands game server instances.

Design, develop, and deploy backend services for multiplayer games.
Uphold the standards in distributed system scalability & resilience.
Optimize existing systems for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in a timely manner.
Mentor junior engineers
Support a culture of technical creativity, innovation, and excellence.
Participate in code reviews Contribute to architectural discussions.

Your profile

Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
Programming Language: Strong proficiency in Go.
Orchestration: Hands-on experience with containerized application deployment and Kubernetes (K8s) or Nomad.
Distributed System Design: Deep understanding and practical experience with distributed systems.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Bonus: Experience with cloud platforms and cloud native concepts (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).
Bonus: Familiarity with game development concepts and challenges.
Bonus: Understanding of game server containerization & hosting (Docker, ContainerD, etc…).
Bonus: A Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
