Your role

As Growth Marketing Manager – Performance Marketing you own paid acquisition at Placetel. You bring in the trials and the paying customers that our self-service growth model runs on – with real budget responsibility, across Google, Meta and every channel we have not tested yet.

One thing up front, because it shapes how we work: winning SMB customers in Germany looks far more like winning customers for a DTC brand than like classic enterprise B2B. High volume, short consideration cycles, creative-led, measured daily. That is how we run growth – and that is the mindset we are hiring for.

What you will do

• Own our paid acquisition budget end to end – strategy, channel mix, allocation and daily optimisation – and be accountable for the outcome.
• Plan, launch and scale campaigns across Google Ads (Search, PMax, YouTube) and Meta, plus additional channels such as LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, native, affiliate and comparison portals.
• Manage to unit economics, not vanity metrics: trials, trial-to-paid, CAC, payback period and LTV/CAC are your scoreboard.
• Build a systematic testing cadence – audiences, bidding, offers, landing pages, creative angles – with clear hypotheses, decision rules and documented learnings.
• Work hand in hand with our Creative Strategist: you brief which angles to test, you read the results, you decide what scales and what dies.
• Own tracking, attribution and measurement together with our analytics and eCommerce colleagues – GA4, GTM, server-side tracking, conversion values, offline conversion uploads from the CRM.
• Optimise the full path from ad to trial to paid customer: landing pages, signup flow, offers and pricing tests – together with Growth, Product and Sales.
• Open up channels we do not run yet and decide quickly whether they earn a permanent budget line.
• Report performance transparently and in plain language: what worked, what did not, what we do next.

Requirements

Who we are looking for

• Several years of hands‑on performance marketing with genuine budget responsibility – ideally in B2B SaaS and/or in a DTC or high‑velocity consumer brand. Both together is the strongest profile we can imagine for this role.
• Pro in one channel, solid in the rest. You are the person others ask about Google Ads or Meta, and you can competently run the other channels yourself.
• You think in unit economics: CAC, payback, LTV/CAC and contribution margin are part of your everyday vocabulary.
• Confident with tracking, attribution and analytics setups – you fix broken measurement instead of waiting for someone else to.
• A real creative instinct: you can judge an ad, brief a better one and spot a winning angle before the data fully confirms it.
• Structured tester: hypothesis, sample size, decision rule, learning written down and shared.
• Hands‑on mentality and high ownership – you make budget calls without needing a committee.
• Fluent German and English. Our customers are German SMBs; you need to feel the language they are being sold in.
• A degree in marketing, business, business informatics or a comparable field – or an equivalent track record that speaks for itself.

Optional and nice to have

• Experience with free‑trial or freemium subscription models and self‑service checkout.
• Experience with comparison portals, affiliate and marketplace channels in Germany.
• Experience running paid in more than one market or language.
