Hardware Engineer (E-bike / Cargo)

Responsibilities

• As a Hardware Engineer, you will help shape the technical development of a new cargo e-bike concept from first idea to production readiness, working on the mechanics and components that keep our riders safe and on the road
• Designing and developing mechanical components for e-bikes / cargo bikes
• Selecting and evaluating components and suppliers (e.g. drivetrain, frame, brakes, electronics interfaces)
• Creating technical specifications, drawings and requirement documents
• Conducting and evaluating tests and prototype trials
• Collaborating with external manufacturing and development partners
• Ensuring compliance with quality, safety and standards (e.g. EN 15194)
• Coordinating closely with Product Management and Operations on requirements from fleet operations

Qualifications

• Understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties
• Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or similar, or comparable qualification
• Confident use of CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360)
• Good German and English skills
• Structured, solution-oriented way of working with attention to detail
• Professional experience developing mechanical components, ideally for bicycles, e-bikes or light vehicles
• Experience with e-bike standards and certification processes
• Knowledge of electrical/electronics integration in e-bikes
• Experience collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing partners
