Scope and Employment

The role is full-time (39 hours per week), initially for three years with possible renewal after a positive evaluation. The successful candidate will receive funding for research personnel and a dedicated budget for scientific travel and visiting researchers. Salary is paid according to the TVöD Bund pay scale and includes the usual social benefits.

Qualifications

• PhD in applied mathematics (or equivalent) with an outstanding record.
• Strong background in optimization, particularly with partial differential equations.
• Experience or strong research orientation in artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
• High motivation and early-career status.
