Head of Accounting, Europe

Stellenbeschreibung:

Oversee accounting processes for multiple entities and ensure complete and accurate financial reporting
Manage the full month-end close process, including the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and consolidation
Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
Lead an accounting team and support employees’ professional and personal development
Continuously enhance accounting processes, systems, and structures to improve efficiency
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal accounting policies
Design and optimize internal control systems for financial reporting and accounting
Analyze variances, financial trends, and key performance indicators, and develop recommendations for action
Support budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with management and functional teams
Monitor cash flow and budget variances
Support external audits and coordinate the timely provision of relevant documents and information
Collaborate with international finance teams, management, and other business functions

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a comparable qualification
Several years of professional experience in accounting and finance
Experience managing a team or providing functional leadership
Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), ideally combined with knowledge of IFRS and international accounting standards
Ideally, experience at an auditing firm or in a Big Four environment
Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, consolidation, and balance sheet reconciliations
Strong analytical skills and the ability to confidently interpret complex financial data
Experience optimizing accounting processes and internal control systems
Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and professionally develop employees
Structured, detail-oriented, and reliable approach to work
Excellent communication skills with a range of stakeholders in an international corporate environment
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Proficiency with modern ERP and accounting systems
Ideally, knowledge of Epicor and/or OneStream
