Stoneleaf Search is mandated by a well-capitalised European real estate investment platform to appoint a Head of Asset Management & Development to lead its German business from Frankfurt.

Germany is one of the platform's most important growth markets and this appointment will play a central role in its next phase. Reporting into the global Head of Asset Management & Development, whilst working closely with the German investment leadership team, you will lead the Asset Management & Development function in Germany and become part of the wider European leadership team.

This is considerably broader than a traditional asset management role. The function sits at the heart of the investment process, ensuring customer insight, development expertise and operational knowledge shape better investment decisions throughout the lifecycle of every asset. Building on a proven operating model established in other geographies, you will adapt and embed best practice within the German market, whilst helping to grow the local platform, team and portfolio over the coming years.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall commercial responsibility for driving growth, performance and value creation across the German real estate portfolio.
• Define and execute the Asset Management & Development strategy, including portfolio business plans, capital allocation, optimisation initiatives and performance reporting.
• Work closely with the investment team, ensuring operational, development and customer insight informs investment decisions from acquisition through to hold and exit.
• Monitor development projects alongside internal development teams and external partners to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
• Lead relationships with JV partners, challenging performance and ensuring delivery against agreed business plans.
• Embed operating models, commercial concepts, customer journeys and sustainability initiatives across the portfolio.
• Lead, develop and grow the German Asset Management & Development team as the platform continues to expand.
• Represent Asset Management & Development across senior internal and external stakeholder forums.

The Individual

• Senior leadership experience within real estate asset management and development.
• A track record of leading teams and delivering commercial performance within an investment-led real estate environment.
• Experience across value-add asset management, development and portfolio-level value creation.
• Strong understanding of real estate valuation, investment fundamentals and financial modelling.
• Commercial mindset with P&L responsibility and the ability to prioritise key value drivers.
• Proven experience working across joint venture partnerships and complex stakeholder environments.
• A strategic leader who is equally comfortable remaining hands‑on where required and leading by example.
• Entrepreneurial, collaborative and motivated by building teams, platforms and long-term value.
• Fluent in German and English.
