Head of Business Development (Founding Team)

We are looking for a Head of Business Development to own the commercial growth of our product — a professional engineering software platform for process and plant design. You will build and lead the go-to-market engine end to end: marketing, sales, strategic partnerships, market expansion, and investor relations. This is a senior, results-driven role for someone who has already done this in a comparable B2B / technical software (SaaS or engineering-tool) company and knows how to turn an excellent product into sustainable revenue.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the marketing strategy (positioning, messaging, branding, content, demand generation) for a technical product sold to engineers and industrial customers.
• Build awareness across the target industries and shape the product's market narrative.

Sales of the Product

• Own the full sales cycle — from prospecting and demos to negotiation and closing.
• Build, manage, and scale the sales pipeline and forecasting; carry and exceed revenue targets.
• Establish pricing, packaging, and commercial models suited to the customer base.

Strategic Partnerships

• Identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships with EPC firms, engineering consultancies, distributors, technology vendors, and industry bodies.
• Build channel and reseller relationships that extend reach and accelerate adoption.
• Design and lead the overall GTM strategy: target segments, value proposition, channels, and launch plans for new features and markets.
• Build a repeatable lead-generation engine across inbound and outbound channels.
• Qualify opportunities, run the sales funnel, and convert leads into paying customers and long-term accounts.

Investor & Stakeholder Relations

• Support fundraising: prepare materials, build the growth narrative, and engage with investors.
• Maintain strong relationships with investors, key customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, and report on commercial performance.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role — Head of Business Development, Head of Sales, Senior Business Development at a comparable product and company (B2B technical / engineering software, SaaS, CAD/CAE, P&ID, industrial or process-design tools).
• Demonstrable track record of building GTM strategy and hitting/exceeding revenue and growth targets in a similar product category.
• Strong experience across marketing, sales, and partnerships — full commercial ownership.
• Experience selling to engineering / industrial / technical buyers and navigating longer B2B sales cycles.
• Experience in investor relations and/or fundraising support.
