Head of Global External Supply Operations

In this role, you drive long-term supplier relationships and SRM processes to ensure cost, quality, and reliable supply of externally sourced products. You’ll align ESO priorities with cross-functional partners to optimize the external manufacturing network and improve performance. You will lead strategic initiatives like technology transfers, new product introductions, and cost-saving programs while building a high-performing ESO team. This position offers impact across global manufacturing and supply chain, contributing to a resilient, cost-efficient network.

• Own long-term supplier management strategy and SRM processes
• Ensure continuous supply across all dimensions (cost, cash, quality, supply)
• Identify and manage supply risks proactively
• Support projects (technology transfers, new product introductions, process improvements)
• Deliver global annual saving targets
• Develop and optimize the ESO function and allocate tasks effectively
• Provide strategic guidance to ESO Leaders
• Contribute to due diligences and negotiations for performance improvements
• Collaborate with MSI, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, SD&O and Global Licensing on network strategy
• Monitor CMO performance with robust tracking/reporting; represent ESO in governance and external forums
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing ESO team
• Act as escalation point in critical supplier negotiations

• Academic Master in science or engineering
• P&L accountability in end-to-end Operations (manufacturing, global supply chain, procurement)
• Experience in account and stakeholder management
• Site/manufacturer leadership experience is a plus
• Strong GMP knowledge including end-to-end operations and interdependencies
• Deep knowledge of DP manufacturing forms (patches, injectables, solids)
• Executive presence with strong communication at all levels
• Strong negotiation skills with execution mindset
• Proven people leadership abilities and accountability
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
